eCW Integration Guide

What the integration supports

Once the integration is active, SamaCare can retrieve:

• Patient demographics on demand when you search for a patient during prior authorization creation
• Primary insurance member ID and group ID
• Secondary insurance member ID and group ID

Before you begin

Confirm that:

• Your practice uses eClinicalWorks version 12 or later
• Your organization has access to the eClinicalWorks FHIR APIs
• An eClinicalWorks administrator is available to complete the activation

The integration is available for both cloud-based and server-based eClinicalWorks installations.

Set up the integration

Step 1: Open Product Activation

In eClinicalWorks:

1. Expand the left navigation menu.
2. Select Admin.
3. Select Product Activation.

Step 2: Open the FHIR API settings

From the Product Activation page:

1. Scroll down to FHIR APIs.
2. Select Settings.

Step 3: Add the SamaCare application

From the FHIR APIs dashboard:

1. Locate Backend/Bulk Access Apps.
2. Select Set up.
3. Under Add New App, enter the following activation code: ebb9047702704ae5
4. Select Add.

Complete the activation

After completing the steps above, contact your SamaCare Customer Success Manager or email ehr_accounts@samacare.com to complete the activation or for any questions about your integration.

The SamaCare team will complete the remaining activation steps and let you know when your integration is live.
