# How to Add and Edit Patients

## This guide walks you through the process of adding a new patient to the system and editing existing patient records to keep all information accurate and up to date.

### Getting Started

1. Go to **Practice Settings** on the left-hand side.
2. Select **Patient Admin**.

### Add New Patient

1. To add a new patient, press the purple **New** button.
2. Fill in the patient details: **Required Fields:** 
     - First Name
     - Last Name
   **Optional Fields:** 
     - MRN (helps prevent duplicate patient records)
     - Address
     - Gender
     - Height (in)
     - Weight (lbs)
3. Press **Continue** to move to Patient Insurance.

### Patient Insurance

1. Complete the patient insurance information: **Required Fields:** 
     - Insurance Company (if the insurance company you're looking for isn't an option, select **Contact SamaCare Support**)
     - Member ID
     - Insurance Type (Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, Other)
   **Optional Fields:** 
     - Group Number (not required, but helpful if a status check is needed)
     - Relationship to Subscriber
2. Once complete, select **Save**.

### How to Edit an Existing Patient

1. Under **Patient Admin**, locate the patient you'd like to edit. You can search using the search bar at the top of the screen.
2. Press the pencil icon on the right-hand side.
3. Edit the necessary information.
4. Select **Save**.

### How to Delete a Patient

1. Under **Patient Admin**, locate the patient you'd like to delete.
2. Press the trash can icon on the right-hand side.
