# How to Upload a Wet Signature

## Learn how to upload a wet signature in your Samacare authorization

### Overview

Some payer forms require a **wet signature** (a handwritten signature in ink) and may not accept a typed signature. When a wet signature is required, use SamaCare’s **Upload Signature** option to attach an image of the provider’s handwritten signature.

To upload a wet signature:

1. Have the provider sign a blank piece of paper in ink.
2. Scan or photograph the signed paper.
3. Save the photograph/scanned paper to your computer. 
4. During SamaCare's signature step, select **Upload Signature**.
5. Upload the scanned or photographed image. SamaCare places the signature on the form in the correct location.

Tip: If you're unsure whether a payer requires a wet signature, check the form's instructions or the payer's submission guidelines.
