ModMed Integration Guide

Connecting ModMed to SamaCare allows your practice to access patient information and move documents between the two platforms without downloading files to your computer first.

What the integration supports

Once the integration is active, your practice can:

  • Access patient demographics on demand in SamaCare
  • Download patient documents from ModMed directly into SamaCare for use with prior authorization requests
  • Upload patient documents from SamaCare to ModMed

Note: Documents uploaded from SamaCare appear in Patient Chart > Manage Attachments in ModMed. This location is determined by ModMed and cannot be customized.

Before you begin

The integration must be requested through ModMed and requires an order form. ModMed charges $20 per provider per month for the integration.

Set up the integration

1. Submit an integration request to ModMed

Email practicesolutions@modmed.com and request the SamaCare integration.

cc: ehr_accounts@samacare.com on the email so the SamaCare team can help coordinate the setup.

Step 2: Complete the ModMed order form

The ModMed Practice Solutions team will contact you to complete an order form.

Complete and return the form to begin the integration enablement process.

3. Securely share the integration credentials with SamaCare

Once ModMed enables the interface, your practice will receive:

  • An API key
  • A password
  • Instructions for accessing the integration

Securely share the following with the SamaCare team:

  • API key
  • Password
  • Your practice's ModMed URL

Important: Do not send the password in an unencrypted email. Use a secure sharing method, such as a password manager share link or encrypted email.

Complete your setup

Once SamaCare receives your API key, password, and ModMed URL, our team will complete the remaining setup and let you know when your integration is live.
