[EHR](https://help.samacare.com/ehr?hsLang=en-us) September 11, 2026 # Nextech Integration Guide ## Connecting Nextech IntelliChart Pro (ICP) to SamaCare allows your practice to access current patient demographic and insurance coverage information in SamaCare. #### What the integration supports Once the integration is active, SamaCare can retrieve: - Live patient demographics from Nextech ICP - Patient insurance member ID and group ID #### Before you begin You will need: - A Nextech practice administrator to submit the integration request - Your practice's official name in Nextech - Your Nextech practice shortname - The practice name you want displayed in SamaCare, if it differs from the official Nextech name **Important**: Nextech requires the support case to be submitted by a practice administrator. --- #### Set up the integration **Step 1: Submit a support case to Nextech** Sign in to the [Nextech Community Portal](https://nextech.my.site.com/nextech/s/login/?icp=EHR%20Software%20%26%20Practice%20Management%20for%20Specialty%20Physicians%20%7C%20Nextech) and open a support case. Include the following statement in your request, replacing the bracketed text with your practice information: *I would like to grant SamaCare FULL SYSTEM ACCESS to my practice, \[**official practice name and practice shortname\]**, via the R4 API (ICP). Please route this request directly to the API team/Courtney Williams.* **Step 2: Confirm your practice information with SamaCare** Provide your SamaCare contact with the following: - Your official practice name in Nextech - Your Nextech practice shortname - The practice name you would like displayed in SamaCare, if different #### What happens next The **Nextech API team** will process your request and grant SamaCare access to your practice's data. Nextech approval typically takes **2–3 weeks**, although it may be completed sooner. Once Nextech grants access, the SamaCare team will complete the remaining activation steps and let you know when your integration is live. #### Integration fees **SamaCare does not charge a fee for EHR integrations.** As of July 2026, Nextech indicated that the ICP integration is available at no additional cost.
